In collaboration with Sony Corporation, the artist has pioneered a new device that enables a Betamax VTR to record two frames at a time. The ANIMAKER allows for recording a set number of frames at the push of a foot pedal, with servo frame accuracy. The device can also be set to perform as an intervalometer, automatically recording frames at preset intervals. The recorded images can be played back immediately, so that animations can be viewed, then changed or modified in progress. This makes a trememndous aid in the teaching of animation techniques.
