Awakening of Elizabeth Shaw

A letter written in 1898 by a white woman who worked at a First Nations residential school in Port Simpson, British Columbia is the subject of this timely, important video. The letter contains detailed accounts of abuse suffered by the residents during her stay there, raising many questions about the historcal mistreatment of First Nations children in the residential school system, about the accountability of churches in condoning these abuses.
