  • # The author introduces Gladys Trudeau, waitress at the P.A. (Prince Arthur) restaurant which was located on the corner of Parc and Prince-Arthur, and later demolished to make way for the La Cité complex. The video presents a number of affectionate testimonials. It also introduces us to a generous woman whose life has been in turmoil ever since her workplace was destroyed. The restaurant was primarily a meeting place, where regulars went to meet and talk. The video takes a completely different turn when she talks about her son, who was kidnapped and murdered. Towards the end of the video, we see Gladys walking alone in an empty lot: it's what's left of the restaurant and the stores that were demolished. We see the immensity of the demolition that took place to build La Cité, and we can't help but remember the protest movement that developed in the neighbourhood against the project.
