Konser Kakilima Banjir Ciliwung

A pair of itinerant street musicians is ambushed and contracted to perform for the video camera on the banks of the flooding Ciliwung River in East Jakarta. They are clearly uneasy and somewhat embarrassed by the bald bule ('albino', a disparaging term for white people used by Indonesians) but perform their Javanese piece, Ngamen 5¸ very skillfully. The uncertainty and nervousness of the players becomes part of the performance. “You play, I pay.”
