Radiant Monster

RADIANT MONSTER represents an unseen pregnant woman s ambivalent response to a fetal ultrasound image, and by extension, pregnancy and maternity. White text, speaking to and from this maternal ambivalence, crawls along the bottom of the screen. A wedge-shaped fetal ultrasound floats in the black field above the text. The soundtrack consists of intra-uterine sounds recorded within the body of a pregnant woman. This video makes use of elements from an installation of the same name the artist exhibited from 1994-98.
